Australia’s vast geography presents a persistent challenge for equitable healthcare access. For the nearly one-third of Australians living outside major cities, timely access to essential medicines is not simply a matter of convenience- it’s a cornerstone of safe and effective patient care.

Behind the daily prescriptions filled in a rural pharmacy is  our highly coordinated supply chain working at scale and speed. Each day, more than two million medicines are distributed across Australia through a national network of Community Service Obligation (CSO) wholesalers, ensuring that pharmacies even in the most remote towns receive what they need. This system operates largely out of sight but is supported by many thousands of dedicated employees spread right across Australia.
