Our Priorities

Everything starts with strong links

We are committed to our partnership with Government, to delivering on the PBS via the CSO and to further leverage our capability and unique visibility of the supply chain to support programs and initiatives for primary healthcare.

The NPSA, in partnership with Government, is focused on strengthening the essential health service provided by the PBS and future-proofing this program by ensuring the investment in its

long-term sustainability.

Facilitating education, research and industry wide discussion on issues affecting the medicines supply chain.

The NPSA is a trusted Industry Body, partnering and contributing to projects that advance the industry and the best practice of Australia’s wholesale medicine supply and distribution.

We work with Government and Regulators, local and international industry bodies, and patient/consumer advocacy groups.

The NPSA collaborates closely with the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) around medicines shortages, contributes to Industry roundtable discussions with the Office of Supply Chain Resilience (OSCAR) and is regularly invited to contribute to government agency research and policy initiatives and development.

In addition, NPSA is strongly committed to partnering with Government and Industry to support equity of access to medicines in rural and remote Australia, and to working with Government’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to ensure continuity of medicine supply to all Australian’s during times of crisis.

The NPSA is also a member of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (IFPW).
